This week!

Wow! This week has been so busy for us! We got our fingerprints done for the homestudy, physicals, passports, took the kids to a campground to play and fish (fun!), and were invaded by BEES!!! Oh - and the pipe under our kitchen sink broke so we couldn't do dishes for two days - thankfully my wonderful husband fixed it and the bees left on their own! Praise God!! And.... we celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary on Wednesday by going out for a nice dinner together while the kids were at Grammie's house down the street. Here are some pictures from our day of fun! :)

1st Homestudy Visit

Just a bit of news: We had our first home visit for our homestudy on Saturday and have our next visit scheduled for this next week! It's going well! We are working hard to get papers turned in asap and really get the ball rolling! Thank you everyone for your prayers and support!

Easter 2011 at Core Church in Los Angelos

We bundled our little ones, put them in the car and drove to LA very EARLY for Easter! Rachel was a guest musician there so we had to arrive early enough for a short rehearsal. It was so nice to see Pastor Steve and his wife Laurie at Core Church, LA. We so enjoyed our visit and meeting everyone there and worshiping together! The kids were - a bit tired. So they took a nice nap there and a nap on the way home too :)

It's in!

We officially committed to a little boy in Eastern Europe! And... our first homestudy meeting here at our house is scheduled for this Saturday! So soon! And our little guy is now listed on Reece's Rainbow under "My Family Found Me"! They'll be putting our family up there to raise grant funds for his adoption costs through their site (tax deductible!). I've recorded 3 songs for the CD and will be recording more this week so we can use the songs also to fund raise for the adoption expenses. Please pray that it will turn out well and be used to encourage and show God's love to those who hear the songs! So much to do so I have to be brief here!

I'll leave you with a picture of the little one we soon hope to call "son"! Isn't he just the cutest?

Here is a wonderful ministry that is dedicated to helping to connect orphans with adoptive families. We hope to be part of "Reece's Rainbow" during the adoption of our chil(ren).

It's sent!

I hope I didn't do too much of a rush job on it but I finally got our application sent off to our homestudy agency!!

News

Upon informing the adoption ministry of our intention to adopt the little boy and girl they replied that they learned that day (yesterday) that the little boy had been placed into foster home and therefore was no longer able to be adopted. I am happy and sad at the same time. I am happy that he is in a home environment now, possibly that family will adopt him. I am sad for me for I am sure he is special and would be a blessing to whatever family he joins. I was also a bit flustered, having to change "my" plans - so this afternoon I had decided that I'd better just realize that my plans don't count - God's do. Only He knows tomorrow and everything and everyone about it. We have decided to continue to plan on adopting the little girl, should she still be able to be adopted by the time we travel over there and if not then we'll choose another child(ren). I hope very much to adopt this sweet little girl but ultimately I want whatever is best for her and our family as well and I leave it in God's hands.

Oh - and the home study agency gave me and scott five more pages, each to fill out and send with the application - so we gotta get those finished before I can mail it.

I will begin recording next week for the CD that will be sold as a fund-raiser for the adoption(s)! I'm so excited to get this project going and I hope God will use it in more ways than to raise funds to bring orphans home but also to encourage those who hear it.

Yes - I'm up a bit "early" (late!) - finishing some papers and gearing up for a meeting with my son's Educational Specialist (for his school) in the morning. I guess sleep might be good too, huh?

Love,
Rachel
